Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was the home of her mother as a mother. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick always enjoyed singing, dancing and creating performances with puppets. She was crowned in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to be a part of the show business. McCormick was offered her first significant work in 1964, when she starred in a commercial on television for Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show Wind It Up And It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won the 1969 audition of more than 1200 children to become the youngest of three twins in The Brady Bunch TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. This show lasted for five years. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season of the show, she almost lost her virginity due to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. In the moment, she was 16 and he was 19. It would have happened she stated, but the time wasn't the right time for us.
